Seminar: Let Island Consulting facilitate
your management retreat. Our leadership seminar
was designed to assist
organizational leaders to define and identify leadership gaps, strengths and weaknesses, identify needs and create
a plan to support leadership development within the organization. It is a critical
component of succession planning.
The Leadership Seminar was used by a California Probation
Management Team as part of their succession planning. Course reviews were outstanding. The seminar can be STC Certified and is excellent training for annual management retreats.
The seminar assisted probation managers in identifying thirty two Core Leadership Competencies
as individuals and as a team. Those who participate in the one, two, or three
day seminar leave with a clear plan of action and specific goals. The seminar
is an exceptional team-building workshop and ideal for annual management retreats.
The Leadership Seminar was presented to the Housing Authority in Washington State in November, 2006. Participants noted that, "...expectations were exceeded..."
What is the Leadership Seminar: Excellent leaders have mastered many competencies. While
mastery of these competencies is the goal, few of us have reached that goal. Without
an understanding of our strengths and weaknesses, we are left to guess which areas need improvement and which areas we should
emphasize because they are our strengths. This program identifies a universal
core, thus allowing identification of leadership competency levels as an organization and as individual team members.
The seminar can be delivered in one, two, or three day formats.
Day 1: Identifying Individual and Organizational Competencies
Day 2: Identifying Strengths and Needs; Comparison of Individual and Group Results
Day 3: Applying Findings; Creating a Plan; Making Commitments
Looking forward: Our leadership development program can then
used to develop leadership mentoring programs, modify performance reviews and assist with succession planning as it relates
to organizational leadership.
When fully implemented, each individual in the organization can focus
on the development of core competencies that support the Mission,
Vision and Values of the department with support from the organization.
